This policy explains what information Perktrend collects when you read our stories, why, and how you stay in control. We do not ask for your name to read the site, and we do not sell your personal information for money.
What we collect
- Reading statistics: the pages you read, the time of the visit, your country (from your connection, never your precise location) and your type of device.
- A random visitor identifier, kept in a cookie for a year, so that we count visitors rather than page loads. It does not contain your name or email.
- The partner who shared a link, kept in a cookie for 24 hours, when you arrive through one of our publishing partners. It lets us credit them for your visit.
- Clicks on partner offers, with a coded version of your IP address (never the address itself), to count clicks and prevent fraud.
Cookies and advertising
Our own cookies above are needed to run and measure the site. Our advertising partners also use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure them. In Europe, ads only load after you accept them in our cookie banner. Anywhere, you can change your answer with the Your privacy choices link at the bottom of every page: refusing stops ads and their cookies from loading.
Why we use this information
To run the site, understand which stories readers like, pay the partners who share our stories, keep partner offers working, and prevent fraud. We keep detailed reading and click records for 90 days; after that, only totals remain.
Who receives it
Our hosting providers (servers and content delivery), which process data on our behalf, and our advertising partners for the ads they serve. Our reading statistics are our own: no third-party analytics service receives them. When you follow a partner offer, that partner receives your click and handles your data under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California and the European Union, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, and to opt out of the sharing of your information for advertising. Use Your privacy choices at the bottom of the page, or write to [email protected] with “Privacy” in the subject. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Perktrend is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
